Trigger Points Can Cure Tennis Elbow?
Yes, they can cure tennis elbow. I was diagnosed by my doctor with lateral epicondylitis, the technical name for the tendon inflammation that is tennis elbow. I did complete bed rest for 2 weeks and took Ibuprofen, as well as icing my elbows. The pain was still there.
I was angry and desperate. I wanted to continue my practice of Japanese swordsmanship, but how could I do that when picking up utensils at dinner was so painful. I was really depressed and discouraged.
The first home remedy I tried was a hot ginger compress on my tricep and elbow. This helped tremendously, both to bring down the inflammation and (unknown to me) helped cure the trigger points in my tricep muscles. I could lift utensils and drive without pain now, but doing any sort of weight lifting or sword work brought it back.
One night in the dark of the internet I discovered information of trigger points, which seemed to be just what was wrong with me. I bought The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook by Clair Davies and started massaging all the muscles around my elbow. With my own massage and The Trigger Point Therapy Workbook coming in the mail, I was able to be completely pain free in 2 weeks.
I cannot possibly express my joy to you. I was so happy to have found a way of curing my pain, and on my own too!! Without any expensive drugs or anything!
Trigger point therapy isn’t a magic bullet to cure tennis elbow. But it is frequently overlooked, easy to apply yourself at home, and can make a huge difference in cases where doctors don’t know what to do. Try it and see if it’s your cup of tea.
